The Fastest Way to Transform Curb Appeal

Nothing else delivers as much visible improvement for the money as a proper bed cleanup, a freshly cut edge, and new mulch. It is the work our customers review most often, and it is usually done in a day.

Established planting bed with mulched borders around perennials

More Than Mulch

The Edge Does as Much Work as the Mulch

A fresh cut edge is what makes a bed read as deliberate. Mulch alone on a soft, undefined bed line still looks untidy, which is why we cut and define edges as part of the job rather than as an upsell. Mulch depth matters too — too little does nothing for weeds or moisture, and too much piled against stems and trunks causes real damage over time.

  • Cleanup first

Leaves, storm debris, dead growth, and weeds cleared out before anything else, so mulch is not simply spread over a mess.

  • Edges cut and defined

A clean, consistent bed line cut against the lawn — the detail that makes the whole property look maintained.

  • Mulch at the right depth

Applied evenly and kept back off stems and trunks, at a depth that actually suppresses weeds and holds moisture.

What's Included

Every Mulch and Cleanup Visit Includes

Bed Cleanup

Leaves, sticks, storm debris, and spent growth removed from beds and hauled away.

Weeding

Beds weeded before mulch goes down, because mulching over established weeds only hides them briefly.

Edge Cutting

A crisp, defined edge cut along bed lines to separate planting from lawn.

Pruning and Cutback

Overgrown shrubs trimmed and perennials cut back as appropriate for the season.

Fresh Mulch

Quality mulch applied evenly at the right depth and kept clear of stems and trunks.

Full Site Cleanup

Walks, drives, and lawn blown clean before we leave, with all debris hauled away.

    Cleanup and Walkthrough

Hard surfaces blown clean, debris hauled off, and the finished work walked with you.

Michael and his crew did a wonderful job of cleaning, edging and mulching our backyard landscaping. The storms had created a mess of branches and debris and there was a lot to clean up. In addition to the mulching job, we had an area of our pavers leveled out. We are pleased with their work and the price was very reasonable. I recommend Emeral Crest!

Cleanup, Edging and Mulch

Mulching FAQ

Mulching & Bed Maintenance, Answered

When should beds be mulched in Central Ohio?

Spring is the most common time, once the ground has warmed and cleanup is done. Autumn mulching also works well and helps insulate root systems through winter. Many properties are best served by a spring refresh with a lighter autumn cleanup.

Is cleanup and edging included, or extra?

Included. Mulch spread over debris and an undefined bed line does not look good, so cleanup, weeding, and edge cutting are part of the job rather than add-ons.

How much mulch does a bed actually need?

Enough to suppress weeds and hold moisture without smothering plants — and critically, kept back off stems and trunks. Mulch piled against a trunk holds moisture against the bark and causes long-term damage.

Do you do one-off visits or recurring maintenance?

Both. Many customers book a spring cleanup and mulch, then a lighter autumn visit. Others call as needed. Tell us what suits you.

Can you clean up after a storm?

Yes. Branch and debris cleanup after Ohio storms is regular work for us, and it can be combined with mulching so the property is fully reset in one visit.
