The most common planting mistake is crowding — filling a bed so it looks complete on installation day, then watching it turn into a tangle three seasons later. We plant for the mature size of the material and use layering, spacing, and repetition to make the bed feel full now without setting it up to be ripped out later. Central Ohio clay also means soil preparation matters as much as plant choice.

Yes, and it is worth asking for. There are plenty of plants that give strong year-round structure and curb appeal without much upkeep. If low maintenance is the priority, we will build the plant list around it.
Yes. We refresh and fill existing beds as often as we build new ones — including removing overgrown or failing material and replanting the space properly.
Correct spacing, appropriate planting depth, prepared soil, and material matched to the site conditions. We also hand over watering and early-care guidance, since the first season does most of the work.
Yes. Removing dated, overgrown planting and redesigning the bed from the ground up is one of the fastest ways to modernise the look of a house.
